1976: Acquisition of the pizza delivery bakery
Ernst Freiberger acquires the pizza delivery bakery along with its 20 employees in Berlin-Moabit. The company was the first to manufacture frozen pizzas in Germany.
1984: The first frozen pasta ready meals
Practical, quick and delicious: Freiberger presents groundbreaking product innovations with the first frozen pasta ready meals for the microwave and oven.
1986: Pizza factory in Berlin-Reinickendorf
Just one year after the foundation stone was laid, Freiberger opens the pizza factory in Berlin-Reinickendorf – today one of the largest pizza factories in Europe.
1991: Acquisition of baguette production
Freiberger acquires Strickler, a baguette production company in Muggensturm in Baden-Württemberg.
1995: Launch of the Alberto Stone-Baked Pizza
With the launch of the Alberto Stone-Baked Pizza, Freiberger created a globally successful concept which today includes more than 24 types of pizza, pasta and baguettes.
1998: Freiberger becomes a subsidiary of Südzucker
Südzucker AG increases its share and Freiberger becomes a wholly owned subsidiary.
2000: New factory in Austria
Freiberger acquires PrimAs in Oberhofen in Austria, thus expanding production technology to include specialities.
2003: New factory in England
Freiberger acquires Stateside Foods in Westhoughton – a leading chilled pizza manufacturer in Great Britain.
2004: Launch of the Private Product Principle®
Freiberger’s particular expertise in the conceptual design and manufacture of commercial brands finds expression in the launch of the Private Product Principle®.
2009: Acquisition of Schwans Food
The acquisition of the Schwans-Werk in Osterweddingen, Saxony-Anhalt, brings Freiberger one of Europe’s most modern pizza production facilities and expands the company’s expertise in fresh dough and snacks.
2010: The Freiberger Guarantee – People, Products, Performance
The strong customer focus of all Freiberger’s activities culminates in the Freiberger Guarantee – an extension of the Private Product Principles® and a firm foundation for a successful future.
2011: CLEAN LABEL PROCESS BY FREIBERGER®
The CLEAN LABEL PROCESS BY FREIBERGER® is used to develop sustainable products according to consumer needs. According to defined guidelines based on recommendations from test organisations, associations, political and scientific bodies Freiberger develops for their customers products which are always safe and up to date.
